| ARTISTS STATEMENT My work is between representational and abstract. I use pencil and watercolor pencil for my first drawing on canvas or board. My newest work is mixed media of my drawings, acrylic, crayon, watercolor pencil, my prints, photos and found objects from trash or recycling containers. Small canvases are studies in pencil and acrylic. Large pieces are finished works in acrylic or mixed media. Each piece is protected with fixative. ps Today in modern world some art critics consider painting is dead. All contemporary artists more or less are repeating stiles and method of previous generations. My paintings are my statement about idea of contemporary painting is dead. I paint nonrepresentational painting in combining stiles and methods with lack of meanings. "This is not the horse, this is the painting" |

| Our new Gallery 161 is ready for visitors. We are located in beautiful Nelson County just 20 miles west of Charlottesville. Our address is : 161 Avon Rd. AFTON, VA 22920. Best way to get here is to take I-64...exit 107 Crozet...follow signs to Wintergreen Resort on Rt 250 ...take 151 South...4 miles from 250 pass BP gas station and about 1/2 mile take a left on Avon Road , just before Exxon gas station.
